If you have never been in a sauna, you need to try it out and I am here to tell you why!

For starters, what exactly is a sauna and where can I access one?

A sauna is a small enclosed room where heat radiates off of hot rocks. You can typically find access to a saunas within local gyms and spas. The temperature can raise to anywhere between 150-190 degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore you won’t want to spend to much time inside, typically between 15-20 minutes. However, connect and listen to your body as this experience is meant to be relaxing both physically and spiritually.

One of the many benefit that a sauna has to offer is the ease of muscle tension along with relaxing your nerves. Doing this a couple times a week is a great combination to your weekly adjustments. While your muscles are relaxed your adjustments can also benefit by reinforcing the body and muscles to better hold an adjustment.

As our bodies are in temperatures this high, we obviously start to sweat. With that also comes a raise in our body temperature. It’s almost as we are in a fever-like state. Our immune systems are then simulated which can lower our risk of getting a flu or cold, how cool! On top of that sweating is actually a really great thing for the body. Sweat allows our bodies to get rid of toxins and heavy metals.

If you are someone who struggles with sleep insomnia or with poor quality of sleep, this next one is for you! Saunas are known to promote better sleep and help with insomnia. Saunas not only help to relax our bodies but our minds as well, reducing anxiety and stress. Melatonin is released into the body while exiting the sauna, this causes one to naturally feel sleepy. The body also releases endorphins which are the natural chemicals that promote happiness!

Last, but not least, circulation. Saunas are known to increase and improve circulation causing better blood flow. This can also help with pain relief. When the blood is flowing, you are able to get better oxygen to these areas where pain is occurring.

Now that you know some of the benefits to sitting in a sauna, are you ready to see these benefits for yourself?
